Finally some decent weather to go and hit the local ghetto park. It's been a great spot for us Explorer users over the years, and it still gives up the goods once in a while. This place dates back to the 1850's and it is infested with iron, cinders, and mineralized ground and it takes a LOT of patience to hunt it. Started off with a few wheaties then pretty soon, a 1910 barber dime...

A couple indians and a silver ring later, I get an iffy yet promising signal in an iron infested spot. Down about 7-8 inches I see the edge of a silver quarter in the bottom of the hole...

See it? Just left of center... It turned out to be a nice 1877S seated quarter!
It was at the end of a large nail and had another blob of iron on the other side of it. I've had the Explorer for 8 years and it still amazes me with it's capabilities in iron infested ground!
Here's the keepers for the day:

Also rounded up 8 wheaties mostly in the teens and several freshly fired bullets. Take care and HH, Mike.
