Today was a great day! But it sure didn't start out that way. I went to a new beach that I just got permission to go to. After about an hour I had 2 pennies and a couple pull tabs to show for my time. I was seriously thinking about leaving. Now I'm glad I didn't!

The good finds started with the sterling necklace at at least 6-8 inches deep in the sludge. It was just a whisper, but I'm glad I persisted to get it!

Then the huge sterling band came out. It fits around my thumb. Then a minute later I got that fancy sterling ring with the 3 stones in it. Then I got the 10k White Gold ring with 3 small diamonds in it.

All of those last jewelry finds came on the edge of where it was too deep for me to stand. I am 6'4" and was up to my chin trying to dig targets while boats zoomed by causing a wake and it was a steep slope. Needless to say, I left a couple of good signals out there because I just couldn't reach them with my scoop.

Then I got the 3rd silver ring of the day. And on my way out of the water came that tiny 14k Gold band.

I also finished the day with $5.31 in clad. If it wasn't so far away I would be going back ASAP, but it's a fairly long drive, so I probably won't be back there until next year.

I also had a water snake circling me for a few hours.

And now the pictures! :)

If you were to melt down the rings for value, what would you get?

I'm not sure exactly, but I think it is in the $70-80 range.

Yeah, it was kind of creepy, but it did keep a good distance of 20 ft or so... until it went under, then who knows where it went!

Great finds.... I have been thinking about stating to search rivers and after seeing your haul i'm even more keen to give it a go ;D

Way to go Brian...I've always been a fan of your work!! Keep it up!

Posts like this make me want to water hunt. Find rings, sell rings, buy a minelab and a new white's! ha!

Great job!

Yeah, other people's water finds are what motivated me to get an Excalibur. Of course I bought the machine, then found the rings to pay for it, haha. I did it in reverse.

Thanks! I always try to find some goodies to post on the site!

Nice finds Brian and congrats on the gold! What's that saying, an ounce of gold is worth a pound of prevention, LOL. Water hunts are tough going and I have to wear a wet suit here as the lakes are cold, even in very warm weather. HH, Mike
