Great Horned Owl

This owl is nesting about 30' from the back of my house. A friend came by yesterday and took these shots...

Here is one that hangs around my place. Them are some awesome photos of yours.

TDog..your friend did a decent job on the post processing, but the
images were over sharpened, which caused the dithering at full
size.

Did what I could to fix it. Compare the images you posted at full
size with these at full size.

Gorgeous bird..an apex predator from the skies.

Check out the artillery on that guys claws (2nd pic). Makes
me glad I'm not a bunny rabbit!

Thanks. Yes, this edited one looks more clear. John is a professional photographer so I'm sure he knows how to edit photos. He sent all the ones I posted to me right away off his camera.

I meant no disrespect Tdog...I have no doubt the man is a professional
as it shows in the composition of the images, and in the equipment he
uses. There are times though when an image is processed it appears
fine, but when posted to the web it shows that dithering at full size.

The images he sent you were processed in Photoshop prior to being
sent to you, as it shows in the exif data (meta data that is attached to
an image file). It is data about the image (camera make, model, etc.), and contains no personal information. An EXIF viewer is a simple add-on to most browsers.

Incredible shots though. I must be cursed, as I can never get a bird
to sit still long enough to get the shot I want.

I didn't know they had already been photoshopped when I made that statement. He lives 30-40 minutes away so he didn't have time to do much photoshopping, I didn't think, although I didn't ask or try to find out. If they turn up anywhere else, I'll post them here and we'll see if they are cleaned up even more!
