I wish everyone a good Good Friday... I managed to get out for a 3 hour hunt really early this morning. Found everything in first 2 hours, last hour nothing... Anyway today I managed a 1940 Merc, a 1946-D Rosie, a 1944 - P war Nickel -- Brings my silver count up to 17!!! Plus last night I got a 1944 -S war nick, which at the time was #14. I also pulled a 1927 (barely legible) buffalo this morning to go along with a no-date buffalo I pulled on 3/31. I am up to 6 Buffaloes on the year, so far! I also pulled 6 Wheat today, 2 Wheat yesterday and 2 on 3/31 (dates: 18, 26-d, 28, 36, 40, 41-d, 46-d, 46-s, 51-d, 56-d)

My silver drought ended! With the smallest trickle yesterday, but today :icon_pirat:

Included in the buffalo picks is my first buff on the year from 2/20, which I just cleaned today. It's a beauty with a full strong legible date.

Actually, I was using my 1985 Radio shack Micronta 3000. Can't afford the bounty hunter, even their cheapest model.

Big Congratulations on some sweet finds there P2C

Nice end to your silver drought Jon. HH DFW

You're sure getting that machine "nickel-trained". . . which is sweet

I remember reading somewhere people claiming E-Tracs were only good on silver, but weak on Nickels. I think the E-trac rocks the nickels. Far superior to my old Fisher F-70. I think once you hear a Nickel, you find them easy with the E-trac. It hits them well. Maybe they were too afraid of tumors or they just had their smart find pattern set up wrong for Nickels. I've now found 3 V's, 6 Buffs, 4 War Nickels with the E-trac for 2010 so far and countless heartbreaking '39-NonWar'42 and 46-49 Jeffersons.

Great hunting bud!!!

Glad you ended your silver drought. It sucks going so long without some good finds. You did a great job catching up! I would love to find one of those war nickels. Congrats :icon_thumright:
