I agree it resembles a buffalo but they were thought to be a tool vs an Effigy. Most eccentric Crescents come from California. Great Basin ones are extremely rare.

Wow! Almost looks like an effigy. The material reminds me of common opal. Here's a Folsom I made from WA state opal. Gary

Definitely not green obsidian.......its some kind of good quality Chert probably from a cobble.

It is that type of material but far from your home Dennis. I have only found a few pieces of it ever and only in Paleo areas. One piece I have tells me it is from small cobbles. Here is another Paleo Tool/Graver from the same material found about 75 miles away from the Crescent.
