Yeah im spread like peanut butter between 3 states... Started metal detecting... 1964... had me a Relco at 1st.. That dam thing was garbage... thought it was all fake but then the cousin came by a year or two late with a whites coinmaster 1 and pulled up a penny... well that changed everything...Soon got me a coinmaster 4.... Back then nobody hardly knew what we had... and everywhere we went was VIRGIN ground... Yea, it was the Golden age of metal detecting. Cant even begin to tell you what I pulled out.. Probably easier to say what I never got... a GOLD COIN.... still looking and hoping for one of them... In Michigan im in the U.P [Upper michigan] and u^p there it all about Float copper... Biggest one yet about 21 pounds.

Have had in order on metal detectors... That relco- coninmaster 4- white's eagle sl- Garrett 2500- Minelab gps exreme - minelab safari .... and ready to upgrade one more time.... Thinking that french product XP deus sounds really good or maybe a minelab 800.
Got to say Calabash Digger has some excellent video's on you tube... and your never to old to learn.... [like me] I really enjoy those video's and he's got me thinking to upgrade once again... Anyway Happy Digging to all! Peace, Wingding

Welcome Aboard wingding. Take a look at Forum:Pennsylvania,
Forum:Michigan and Forum:Montana for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your states.

Port Allegheny, Looks like some fine country where you are. Wish i was further west in Pennsylvania ! Im in Saylorsburg area, to close to NJ. So the property taxes are getting like NJ. I'll be coming west on Route 80 right by you on the 21st of May on my way to Houghton, Michigan.. Question Against the Wind... I see you have both the Minelab CTX3030 on the Xp Deus .... Im wondering which is your overall favorite... ?

Welcome from a fellow Michigander from the lower part of the state! Know what you mean about detecting over 40 years ago. Silver everywhere and just about every little town never saw a detector.

Yes sir SD51.. Them were the good old days... You were pretty much Guaranteed Silver anywhere you went..Back then people were more interested in what you were doing and wanted to watch... Now they just chase you away!
