New to the hobby, just picked up a Bounty Hunter Tracker IV (my Mother's Day gift) a couple weeks ago.
Had always wanted a metal detector as a kid, never got one & had forgotten about it.
About a year ago, I ran across a video on You Tube & the itch festered back up! Except now I get to go out & treasure hunt with my little one - which makes it that much more enjoyable!
Have only gone out a couple times, weather has not been playing nice when I have time off from work. Found some iron goodies the first trip out to an old house foundation: an axe head, an old goat weight, mason jar lid, and some unknown wire. Found another great old foundation, have only had a chance to hit it once & found: an old bracket of some sort (unknown), a wire that appears to be the handle from an old lantern, a couple square nails, & some barb wire scraps. Went back today to try to dig some more & the rain chased me off just as I heard that lovely low grunt! Hoping weather plays nice later this week so I can go back!
Like I said, new to the hobby & have a lot of learning to do! A bigger, better shovel & a pin pointer are high on the list! Digging with just a hand trowel can get exhausting real quick!
I look forward to lots of advice & hopefully share some great finds in the future!
Thanks for having me!
