Group Hunt*1802 draped bust large cent

saturdays hunt hit a old spot i been to before.nabbed 3 IH"s & a spanish /american war cuff button.with Horstman philadelphia back mark
then........
Last night I was pleasantly suprised to get an invite from CT Todd to detect a old colonial soy bean field and said bring a friend.
So Sniffy picked me up at 6:30 am and we were on our way to meet Todd & some other detectorists for 8am.
everyone was pullin coppers except for me & Sniffy.I couldn't get my coil over a coin for nothing except a wheatie & a memorial.dug 2 lead balls & a looks like a hand carved lead bullet head, i put it next to a 69 cal civil war bullet for size comparrison.
here it was 2:45 and the hunt was gonna end around 3:30. finally I got a nice 80 ish vdi at 6 inches and the 1802 draped bust large cent finally saw the light of day again.last target was the designed colonial button.
sniffy got his large cent 2 mins after me.was a great hunt and everyone in the group got coppers.one dug a half reale.
Just want to say thank you Todd for the invite.what a class act Todd is and a pleasure to finally meet him & participate on a hunt with him.thanks to all the other detctorists too.was a real pleasure to meet everyone!

Steve, the hullet shows ground action but I saw one like it in person that Ringfinder dug at a DIV near Brandy Station. Although we couldn't find it in the M & M book, someone told him that it was a picket type CW period bullet. They don't show up very often and that would reinforce the fact that it would be something brought from home for a private purchased weapon. It looks too uniform to be carved. I am certainly no CW expert and don't pretend I am so take this with a grain of salt (or black powder in this case-LOL). HH, Quindy.
