Guns, Markers and Signs in the Philippines

I have recently started financing a project in Luzon. I financed the project on the basis of stories about the site (Japanese visiting in last 10 years wanting to dig and the site), numerous markers on the site (turtle, hand carving, 2 'X' carved into rocks, pyramid stone with large circle carved out of it...), and positive readings we got from 2 different locators / detectors.

In one location, we dug down 7 feet and found a barrel of a Japanese rifle pointing downwards and at 18 feet we found 2 concrete 'tombs' which we have just acquired the equipment to break. In another location nearby we found 2 very old hand-guns at a depth of 4 feet.

I wanted to know if anyone knows what the guns mean?
