Can anyone help IDing button has a design around outter edge

Is there anything else than the edge design? It looks like a tombac button from circa late 1700s to me.

Hi; I have to agree with testing123. It appears to be a toasted tombac. It is NOT a GW button ok. They were not made of tombac. To me your find is a nice tombac coat button ok. Good Hunting. PEACE:RONB

I don't see any design at all except for the outer edge. Was probably nice and shiny when it was new.

When i saw this i was afraid it was the same button you have.But the one on the link is in canada and i see you are in VA. So lord let this be right.This is just a help for the ones that called it a Tombac Button ( good images ) They are Right Hope the link works

I'd bet dollars to donuts that button never came from Canada and has no association to the Revolutionary War whatsoever ,that seller embellishes and elaborates his items to no end, I can assure you of that as well

I said both of those things but you fells beat me to it. Lol.
Looks to me like a beautiful, old, but ordinary tombac button. And just to reiterate GWs were not tombac. I think it's a great find!
