I’ve been fighting moles for years.
My yard is a disaster.
I had out traps, covering 5 different styles.
I started using this style:

I have now caught 13 moles; 11 from this style. Several companies make them. I’m not endorsing any specific brand. My other traps are now obsolete. These require no digging and eliminate a lot of potential human scent from the set.

I got rid of them in our garden by sweeping aside the excavated earth from the most recent activity, packing dog-poo into the all of the holes, and then running water from a hosepipe into them for a couple of hours. I'm now essentially mole-free but get an occasional straggler returning every year of so. They get the same treatment and soon disappear.

So the water liquifies the dung?
I may try that too.

Yep, and carries the scent into whatever underground tunnels they've created (as well as flooding them). I was told they have an aversion to the smell, and it seemed to work.

I can see myself telling my wife we need to go get a dog to poop in mole tunnels.
