First thing that came to my mind was the star, which leads me to believe it's possibly Russian.

Not sure about the STAR but guessing the P is the date code once you find the manufacturer. Maybe.

I believe ring is Prussian - Russian or other slov province
i have found "russian" silver rings with star and think few had P's along with other symbols

That I did not know. I found a snake ring marked that way. Thank you. I meant to have the jeweler have a look at it but I forgot. I brought a few of the silver finds there to have them cleaned and repaired
