Hallo! I'm very new to metal detection... so new that I don't even have any equipment yet. I was pointed here a few years ago from another forum and recently found the messages that person sent me, so I started reading again and reading people's stories has made me want to really pursue this further.
The thing is I don't quite know what I'm doing and might have to ask for help in regard to choosing a detector. But as my username might suggest, I love junk - which, sometimes isn't junk at all, but I still love finding stuff in the backyard. I've got about 9 acres, most of which is covered in weeds and trees.
I live out in the sticks in Bradford County, and while my specific township has only been around since the 1820s, I know that doesn't necessarily mean there's not any gold in them thar hills.
While not metal, I've found fossils of tiny shells in the backyard before, so it makes me wonder what (or who) was here before the house was built.
Happy to finally be a member, and I hope I can start hunting once it gets a little warmer and I get a metal detector.
