Hi,
just found this wonderful forum and had to create an account to see some of the stuff you find in the states and share some treasures you can find in Germany, especially Bavaria/Franconia since it's quite different ;)
I started with a Bounty Hunter Discovery 3300 last year and got myself a Makro Racer 2 afterwards, which helped me find a lot of silver coins etc..

Just one question before I start posting some pictures:
Is it legal in the states to post pictures where you can see swastikas or do you have to remove them?
It's a bit of a hot topic in Germany !

Welcome from North Carolina, USA. I am not one to answer your question. I am notoriously NON-Politically Correct and don't care. Everyone has gotten too sensitive and offended by everything just because it is the popular thing too do. No one can change history by sweeping it under the rug or pretending it didn't happen.

Well, I wasn't asking about personal opinions but rather about legal obligations. I can't post pictures of any badge containing a swastika without covering it up first in Germany.
I asked 'cause I don't want to get banned here ;)
We don't sweep our history under the rug, the point is just that the government wants to prevent right wing groups to still use swastikas as a symbol. Therefor it's prohibited to use them in public. If you do so you can be imprisioned for up to three years/pay a huge fine.

Welcome aboard from Northern Virginia :icon_thumleft::skullflag: There is nothing illegal of posting a picture of one of your finds that has a swastika on it. I have seen lots of WWII memorabilia and coins from Nazi Germany which are viewed as exactly what they are, relics from a bygone day.
