Working the outskirts of a field with a roman site got me some nice finds. Most were surprises during cleaning at home because it was a muddy hunt. Very muddy. :laughing7:

Top finds of the day are the coin weight with "the Hand" and a 0.6g/12mm hammered. Any help with ID is appreciated.

Nice hunt westfront, the coin weight i think is Dutch , Antwerp due to the hand ?. What's the little silver coin ?.

Thanks Robert!
There are many with the hand, Antwerp was my first idea too.
I don't know the hammered. It's too light for a Penny/Pfennig, 0.6gram is more likely a Denier. But you know, there are hundreds of different coins and i have no idea where to start....:dontknow:

DAMN FRONT ; NICE FINDS ...

I also think Antwerp.

Good hunt for Jan!

A couple fields have the green manure mowed down. That gives us some options we don't have normally.

Thanks Dawg!
Mudy as hell, boots weight a ton! :laughing7: Sandal nails usually only turn up on military sites or where military was present. For some reason i'm thinking about Auxillary Troops (Cavalry) there. :occasion14:

I agree that weight is mostly likely Dutch (Antwerp) with that hand, and the date can be narrowed down if you can read the maker's marks on the opposite side.

Excellent hunt.
Congrats; especially on that silver.....
