Hand Made Artifact?

My girlfriend had this, but she has no idea where in the states it was found. The edges do not seem natural being this sharp. Does this look like an Indian artifact? Thanks!

The material doesn't look like it would show flaking very well. From what I can see, I would say it isn't an artifact.
