Did they meant to say $4,800 was indistinguishable. So out of the $6,000 originally buried, Felty only was awarded $1,200 by the treasury department? Or was $4,800 in good condition and only the $1,200 was in the form of "mud"?

IDK but it says $4,800 was distinguashable.. my guise is that he traded $4,800 for cash at the bank and sent the rest in mud to the treasury..

yes very confusing :laughing7:

Only thing makes sense to me he Originally Buried 1200

Then Buried 6000

then forgot

only 4800 was Id'd

Torrero may be right though :dontknow:

If $4800 was distinguishable, then the can sent for investigation of the mud was valued at $1200, isn't that the whole $6000. :dontknow:

Maybe they Meant he Technically Buried $1200 For ever :laughing7:
