Metal Detecting
It was 62 degrees today and I was
wanting to detect really bad but
didnt want to go to far, so I
hit my yard which has always
paid off for me pretty nicely.
Well today was no exception either,
I found about 87 cents clad ( not pictured )
and this 1873 indian head penny. I
found it at 8 inches and tried three different
times before I found him, but well
worth it. the pics not the best, but im telling
you, its a beautiful coin.

kind of makes you wonder what else is there and what is sitting in your neibors yards also :coffee2:

Nice IH! I'd take an 1870s IH over a Mercury dime anyday. Of all of the IH's I have found, I have very, Very few from the 70s--and even fewer that are attractive digs.

Excellent.

You can still see by the pic....that is one fine Indian!!!

NICE FIND! I thought some of the 1870's indian head pennies were semi-key date indians. :icon_scratch: Am i wrong?

Good looking coin. Nothing like that in my yard!
