Hi Folks; For the first time in HISTORY Boston will celebrate the 4th on the 3rd. !!! This is because of Hurricane Arthur coming up the East Coast. It has totally thrown everyones plans into chaos. No one knows how to adjust their plans for this. Every year we have the "Running of the Blankets" where people at 7am run onto the Charles River Esplanade to grab their blanket spots to watch the Celebration and Fireworks. Now everyone will be at work while this was supposed to be going on. Its a Boston Right of Passage for cry eye.!!! This will be a MAJOR blow to local economics as well. This storm is down right unpatriotic.!! Anyways, stay tuned as events unfold. PEACE:RONB

When I was a teenager in Columbus Ohio one year it stormed on the fourth so most fireworks where canceled but one town lit them up. Most went the next night and some the next so we got to watch fireworks three nights in a row.

We have our own at my brothers house.He usually gets about 1500 bucks worth of fireworks.It usually goes from darkfall to about 11pm.think I'm going to be missing it this year though which sucks.

I'm making a firecracker from hell this 4th. Gunpowder packed into a pill bottle and wrapped with clothe tape. Should be grand

I usually drive down to Bean town New Year's Eve to watch the fireworks.

One year in Boston they had to herd everyone into the underpass because of a storm that moved in then moved out.

Someone in our neighborhood was lighting them off at 1am.!

The family is going to the son's house a little natural fireworks aka lighting, food, beer, a game of cards! And the grandkids all running around! Finally I will make up for finding one penny in his yard...feeling lucky!

I'm in Myrtle Beach visiting relatives. Arthur is supposed to pass at it's closest in 15 min. So far just some drizzle and gusting winds. Not bad at all. Unless it picks up steam Boston and the rest of the NE should be fine.

I can tell you a place you don't want to be is Williston ND. Too many young guys with too much money to burn. The last fourth I was there they were lighting artillery shells until daylight. Got no sleep at all.

Hi Folks; They had to stop the Esplanade show on the 3rd because it started lightning out during the Fireworks show. They literally had to Evacuate the Esplanade and surrounding areas. Several People got hurt. Me, I stayed home and did some touch up painting. Looks good. Had Chinese for supper and watched the show from here. I'm happy. On to next year.!!! First time in HISTORY Boston ever had a Hurricane on the 4th. Oh well. Anyways, PEACE:RONB
