Historically, the May long weekend can be cool and rainy but today I woke up to snow on the ground!
The general rule for planting (like tomatoes) is to wait until the May long weekend as it's known to be safe.
For the first time in my life, there's a few centimeters of snow this morning and the overnight low is -6C.
Environment Canada said "risk of frost overnight." Really? You donkey's think we might get frost with -6C? :censored:
I know, Queen Vicky wore black and mourned most of her life but this year her tears have turned into ice!
Guess I'm pulling out the Playstation or X-box today. :BangHead:
Any more crappy weather to report around the continent?

Now that's just not right. :laughing7:

Might get a thunderstorm this afternoon, 40-60% chance, but it's been really dry and the farmers are wishing for some rain now as the soils are drying out already.

It was 85 and humid yesterday, but now it's in the low 50's and very dry out. Shouldn't complain, but that's a heck of a drop in temperature! Should be a good day to detect, but I'll be waiting until the afternoon to hunt.

Sorry to hear about the Snow.
Here the last few Weeks it's been hot & Humid (upper 80's 90 fahrenheit)with short Bouts of (40's & 50's f)
forget spring We got 2 Extremes.
Wednesday & Thursday We will be back in the (60's & 40's f) right now 9:30 AM it's 83f already
gonna feel like snow here come Wednesday night :(

Only high spot I think we are over 3" deficit in rain so far this Year :headbang:
Comon' Drought ! Keep it Goin' !!!! dry up those lakes, burn off those thick weeds !

as far as records back in the early 1800's When there was Man Made Climate change going on
from all the aerosol sprays & Cars etc.
No official records exist for the "year without a summer," in Pennsylvania.
1816, or any of the years in that decade, that were also exceptionally cold.

So we ain't Breaking real records

over 38" of snow here in April 1928 :o (global Warming)

GOD Bless

This week at 9,000ft., highs in the 50's and overnight lows in the 30's. At least a 50% chance of rain every day on into the coming weekend. For variety, it will be rain with thunder, rain mixed with sleet, and rain turning to snow, but accumulations less than 5 inches. Humidity right now is 47%, which is a little high for us. All in all, still great camping weather!

Crazy....Just came back from a drive out in the countryside (Winnipeg to Portage la Prairie) and the fields are all lakes!
We were completely dry, with a below average precipitation this year and now it's soaked!
Still a bit of snow hanging around. :BangHead: Snow in the middle of May?
I shouldn't complain as we hardly had any snow this year and I can still hit the bush.
After a few overnight lows of -5C do you think I'll get any wood ticks?
:laughing1: :laughing7:

If you want anymore I'm sure we (as a forum membership) could send a few extras if you're feeling lonely out there.
The news reported this morning that Kingston is the new hot bed for ticks, gee that's why the dog and wife are crawling with them. Strange as I'm the one that's in the bush areas of the property and they're getting the ticks on them. :dontknow:

Feb.2nd out my kitchen window,we got all your snow, now it's dry as a bone.

Down here in SW Florida we are on the edge of our rainy season. It is going to be 95f, lows nightly of 75f, and torrential rains and deadly lightning every day until the first or second week in October. Hilarious when humidity drops to 75%, and temps dip into the 80's, we are all like "oh, isn't it beautiful out"!!!

The weather has been really wacky since winter just about everywhere.
Polar flip maybe, the ancients were right 12/22/12 the beginning of the end?
