Found a new spot to look over the weekend. The land owner has been fixing some of his feed roads on the ranch getting them ready for winter, so he can get to his cattle out in the pastures.....He had a bulldozer come in and make some cuts next to the roads, where water always stands, so they could drain. We were driving to check the gravel bar below this place and I thought maybe this might be a good spot to look. Sure enough this knife was laying right on top of the ground, shining like a diamond ;D. And flint was scattered all the way down the cut.
I think this is a Harahey knife....Its beveled on each of the four sides.
Thanks for looking!

Good looking finds Sandcreek. Real nice four beveled knife...a true buffalo skinner.
Thanks Th3rty7! It would have been nice to find some old buffalo bones laying beside it  .

Thanks SRV--we be going back to check this place often.....If we could get a good rain or some strong winds to blow the leaves away, we might find even more.

VERY nice SC, congrats on your super find.

Thanks Molly---From what I've read on the Harahey knives, it said they were made by many of the Plains Indian Cultures, some having Caddoan ( :headbang: ) affiliations. Pretty cool, huh?

:hello:

Very cool hon. :icon_thumleft:
