Those had to leave a mark!

They musta have left quite an impression. Those are neat to find. Makes one wonder what they hit to cause so much deformity.

Nice D, I have a few from Antietam I will post them.

Nice D, I've found a few around "Port Hudson", I'd love to post them, only my ex-wife still swears she has no idea what happened to all my CW and War of 1812 finds... :BangHead: :censored: :crybaby2:

They were recovered on private property neat the base of Kennesaw Mt. The area has a lot of granite boulders and out croppings. It was an interesting place to hunt, you would find these type smashed bullets on one side and sometimes find dropped bullets on the other side.

We found a rock face on a hill a long time ago and hiked up this steep hill. We started shooting at the base of these rocks and began finding these impacted bullets, some of the best I have. Amazing to think that these bullets remained where they were found over all this time since striking these rocks.

Nice finds. As if a bullet over half an inch in diameter wasn't bad enough the ricochet might take off a limb. What a terrible time in our country's history but by acknowledging it hopefully we learn never to repeat it.

Those bullets weren't in the air long.
