@ a site today with some fellow members and came across a hards stone tool. At first thinking double edge Celt from, maybe just a chopper hammerstone... just don’t know what to call it. I am still in process of cleaning it up but want to get everyone’s thoughts. Thanks @brettco and @bsit for a great day out in PA. Just weird def work both edges and think a bit was there at some time. Maybe mind playing tricks with me. But found a site the pulls quite a bite of archaic, woodland, contact material.

Thoughts? Thanks everyone!

Awesome day exploring with you guys! Plenty more to come. What a find! That second picture makes me want to take tomorrow off and go back out again. Why do we need to work?

Nice find , the one end with damage looks identical to axe head I have ... without a groove I’d say maybe a gouge or adze... one things for sure it saw a lot of use

Looks like the makings of an adze to me. Not sure it was finished, some of the bit shaping was done with big strikes while the body was shaped with small peck and grind marks.

Thanks makes me think about the unfinished point. The sides have been throwing me off. I didn’t even think about that.

It appears to me to be a pestle form, the angled side seeing the use wear. the ends being used to beat on other materials would not be unheard of.
