Hey gang, my first post!
I'm new to MD'ing and have been doing a lot of great reading on here. Lots of wonderful information, hints, and tips that everyone is more than willing to share, it's great. THANKS!

Question// I came across a great opportunity today that I couldn't pass up on a local online listing site for $30
Has anyone found a good use in using a Garrett Super Scanner for Metal detecting? I already have a good MD that I am still learning to use and I already have a pin pointer.



Any feedback would be appreciated

You could use it to "clear" guests before entering your house.

Before exiting the house would be better to check for any stolen coins.... Anyhow in metal detecting I don't see it as a useful detector.

I use one for scanning reclaimed boards for nails before running them through the planer.

If you dont use it you could donate it to a local school, seems many of them use metal detectors now to check the kids for weapoms.

maybe brick tunnel walls,stone work,or fire place,chimneys,cellar walls,root cellars. Places its hard to swing or fit a detector and to big or deep for pinpointer.

Gerry has a good idea. They could also paddle the kids with it also..oh forgot that doesn't work anymore these days. lol.

Could see promise using it to search old houses for wall pendants or doors for stash spots.
