Has anyone looked for the rest of The Great Train Robbery stash?

I'm referring to the Central Pacific robbery between Verdi and Reno NE. By what I read, there is still $8000 in gold coin somewhere near Truckee, CA. Has anyone here searched in that area. I'd like to next time I'm up in Tahoe. Also, can you take MDs into such locations as Bodie?

I have not looked for it, and don't know anyone that has. I don't see any reason you
can't take a metel detector out there, as logn as you ask the property owners.
