I recently got back into the hobby after a bit of a hiatus. I love MDing and own several good VLF units. My parents live on the beach and i metal detect there 2 times a week when i visit them. Of course none of my VLF units work on the wet sand to any good degree. I have the option of purchasing a Minelab Sovereign GT for $600, less than 6 months old and a CZ20 of unknown age for $500. I plan on hunting on the wet sand and very shallow water perhaps 2-3 feet or less. I'm aware that the GT is not water proof but can be modified. I would appreciate your opinions as to which one would be a better buy.
