It looks like an old corroded cartridge case that had a lot of back pressure when it was fired. How about a shot of he primer area as if it was a cartridge case, it might be an old rimfire type. Is it magnetic?

I thought of that, either bayonet scabbard tip or maybe a sword drag tip... but have never seen one like that so I didn't mention it - do you have an example?
