I hit an old house today where a civil war battle took place. Found this in my stuff. Just want to figure out what it is. Make sure it's not civil war related ya know. I made the mistake last time of throwing away an artillery friction primer thanks guys!

I dug something similar to this a-while back and found it belonged to a vintage weed-whacker.. I don't think it is civil war related, perhaps off a old weed whacker or something in that nature?

Oh I definitely see some writing on it!! It looks like one of the areas it says 15 grams. There are a few other areas with writing too!

Well then its def a frame to some kind of electrical equipment my guess personally it looks like the outside frame to a old movie reel

Agree. It is the spool cover off a vintage string trimmer/weed whacker.

How big is it ? Looks like the top of a lawn mower.

A relative size would be nice. It looks to me like an air adjustment valve off a gas oven , similar to the ones on the underside of a gas Bar-B-Q

That sure looks like it to me. I just can't believe some of the photographic evidence some of you folks can come up with. I'd say you solved this issue.
