i have had my old orig bandido umax in storage since i moved.

havent seen it in the 5 yrs since i moved here. all the sudden

i was looking for something else and spied a tiny bit of it

under a pile of stuff. WOW my old friend.then i remembered

oh no it was broken. so im about to decide to send it off

to tesoro for the old lifetime warranty thing.

as im reading it i see one of the main things not covered

are the coil wires. hmmm. so i powered it up and did a little

twisting and pushing of the coil wire near the connector.

all the sudden a crackle of sound. yesssss.

i examined the connector and found a wire had sheared.

it wasnt real ez but i was able to strip the wire a bit further

and re solder the connection. BINGO. a working companion

for my silver umax.

i guess working on it yourself voids their warranty.

but to me im just glad i saved on shipping. and by reading carefully looks like

they would have charged me to fix it too.

so no disrespect to tesoro but to me a lifetime warranty that
doesnt include the coil wire isnt really a lifetime warranty.

also i had forgotten the beauty of these older units. i like the metal housing,

quality of the foam grip, and the polished gold stem. vs the dull finish on my

silver and plastic housing.i have had a similar problem w the silvers smaller coil

sp as soon as i can find where i put it i will check the connector and ill bet

it will be the same problem.

glad you fixed it i have the same problem with my diablo 2 , called the factory -- was told that they would fix it free of charge, only pay shipping tesoro is the best :icon_thumright:

If you read the warranty it states for life for manufacturing defects, not things you break. Fortunetly Tesoro hardly ever charges for repairs unless you run over it with a truck.
