That's tellin' em! Of course, around these parts, if you said that - he'd come back with six friends and bury you in the sand, but that's another matter entirely. ;D

Greg

Guess you might be right, but it would be AFTER the fight and they'd have to dig more than one hole.........or I would. I don't go anywhere without 21 "friends" of my own. Since I've gotten to be an old fart,I have no patience with fools.

HONESTLY -- although I a big guy and know how to hurt folks quickly and badly --I'm a peaceful person by my nature --(the best fight is the one you didn't have)--- and do not bother folks --I let others be and expect the same from them--- frankly I don't like conflict --- however I will not be cussed at like a stray dog , spit upon , laid hands upon or called a lair --you might not like me and thats just fine ,* but as a full grown adult man you will give me the proper respect due me --- if I did a wrong thing to you, trust me -- it was not done on purpose as I do not roll that way--as thats not my style ---calmly explain to me how you think I offended you ,if it makes sense and is true --I 'm a big enough man to say I'm sorry and make amends -- but if not -- I'll speak my mind and let the chips fall as they may.

no one thats locked horns with me has ever come back for seconds (from grade school on)-- I haven't won every single fight i've been (single fights one on one never lost ) however I lost a couple ( one was 5 on one-- 3 of 5 em went to the hospital but so did I--- the other was 2 guys on one -- they hit me over the head with a motorcyle timing chain belt ) but in those two cases they still knew they 've been in a fight .

That is right you had a very good day!!! You could be dead, with no one to blame but yourself if that kid wanted to push the fact that you were on U.S. Airbase property with no permission.Your lucky your not in jail and you still have a detector and vehicle....
you are right and there is a very good lesson here. yes its U.S. property but only the G.A.P. wherehouse owns some of it the rest is the Army National Guard. The boy wuz a low paid security doing wat he wuz told. As far as federal land i have permission as long as as i stay 40 feet frum da fence. The local museum got some of my finds and i returned 5 dog tags. Ken dont worry i would never put myself in that position. Thanks fur the reply

This good gesture will benefit you greatly. In the end.

no need fur being sorry its all good

First off,,,,how do you go about getting permission to detect on federal land,,,ie: an active military base.?? I was stationed at Hill AFB, and still work there for the last 25 years and would love to be able to hunt there.
Secondly....people should know,,,,,never pick a fight with an old man,,,,,if he's too old to fight, he'll just kill ya...........

Every Air Force Base I have been stationed at, about 6, I have just gone ahead and detected, no problem. I just make sure I leave with the grass looking as good as when I came. Of course, I use my head. I don't go outside the gate of the weapons storage area and start detecting, or go in the lawn of the Security Police or Law Enforcement facilities. I have gone near the Weapon Storage Area, pre-9/11, but I received permission first from the WSA NCOIC. I don't know that they would let me now post 9/11. I have never had any problems on an AFB. That is my experience.

Was out with a friend the other day and we were using only one MD and I was the digger upper, well about 20 minutes into the hunt and finding about 4 coins, these 2 guys come up to us that look like some kind of park workers, they tell us that we can't MD around here because this is part of the park I just laugh at him and said there's no way that this is park land, and that this land is used as a dump on the upper part.Well he pulls out this map and gets on his walkie and starts to call and talk to somebody,we didn't want any trouble so we decide to walk back to the car, when we got there I looked back and noticed those 2 guys walked back and are now in the park, the real part of the park ,with their metal detectors going back and fourth. So we put ours in the trunk and are about to pull away when a real park police guy pulls up and asks us how we are doing ,and my buddy starts to tell him how we were out walking around on the trails and we saw these 2 guys out there with MD's and he tells us that it's against the law to do that inside the park boundaries, and he starts to walk out to them and of course we stayed just long enough to see them make contact with the cop. :hello2: :icon_thumleft: :icon_thumright:
