Heading to Perdio Key in a week...

I'm planning on spending a week standing on the beach drinking beer and fishing, while my 11 yr old does some metal detecting.

Question is, are there any strange rules or laws that I should know about before I turn him loose? Where we stay is right on the Florida/Bama line, so any input for Alabama would be appreciated as well.
