Heart attack at the cellar hole!

I went out for an hour to the cellar hole I found back in August. It used to produce around 5-8 buttons every two hours, but has started to dry up. Most finds are only in a small area, with other areas producing almost nothing. Anyways, in an hour, before it started to get dark, I dug two buttons. All of the buttons were in areas that are in thick overgrowth, or under a log. Anyways, right as it was getting dark I dug my last button, only an inch deep. In the dirt a saw that it was a huge dandy button. I wiped some dirt off and saw a chain, I started to get my hopes up that it may be a GW button. Then I saw a thick band, with some cursive writing inside. I said out loud, "Oh my god!!!!!!!". Then I wiped it again with spit, and noticed that the cursive was really a flower. The button had me fooled for a minute, I also didn't remember that the GW buttons were etched rather than having a raised design. The other button has some thread still in it, and some backmarks that I haven't read yet.

I accidentally left the other button in hot hydrogen peroxide for half an hour. I am very surprised at the results!

Thanks guys! I love finding buttons with cool designs, especially big dandy buttons! I recently found a big pewter dandy in nice condition with a nice raised poison ivy vine design, found in a huge poison ivy patch! I would take one button with a nice design over a few plain ones any day!

Also, I just cleaned the dandy button up, it has a beautiful dark green patina! My camera died just now, so I don't have any photos.

Oh Wow!! Especially that one was found in NH, and the others in RI! I have a pair of dandy buttons that I found around .1 miles apart at the same site. Never seen the same exact buttons dug by another member in a different state though!
