Took the canoe to some new areas today (did more carrying than paddling) Came up with these two. The broken one was a killer.......the other one looks odd to me...:icon_scratch:

That was a disappointment piece and the other is interesting. Nice creek stain on those. What state?

Just throwing this out there and you should know better than me seeing you have it. But I find scrapers in that shape. The narrow end would be inserted into a handle and the round end would be the working end. The nub on the one side could be a spur that has broken off. Just guessing though. Its got some nice work on it.

Great Material!

I like that bulls eye portion showing on the broken piece. The other looks like a cobbs blade. Is the edge steeply beveled?

It looks like a Cobbs to me as quito said, great finds:thumbsup:

The "Cobbs" does not seem overly beveled. Looks like a point, but with an odd bottom. Thanks for the replies.

Ive never seen a Cobbs that small before. Archaic knifes yes. But either way its a nice whole piece.

I would be happy to find either of those. The bifurcated one with the tip gone, looks to me to be of the MacCorckle type. Both made of attractive materials. HH

Really nice finds, good stuff.

Cobbs vote here looks like some creek stain ?

Cool pieces! I'm getting pretty familiar w/ those bifurcated points- finding a number of them here in N Central VA (of quartz, tho). I love the material. A lot of work for those two, but I'm bettering it was a great day to be out on the water regardless. Good luck on your next hunt- you seem to be in a great location! Yakker
