I found this today, I've done some research and appears to possibly be from the Civil War era. There are some on ebay for sale and two other Posts here on TNet
either way sure beats a stick in the eye

Thanks for the heads up guys. I'm pretty sure it wasn't from the Civil War being that Texas was only a supply state. Possible CW era? All the links I've found don't give a positive answers, only suggestions lol
