Finally got to get out after more than two weeks. Got to the beach at 6:15 and the wind was pretty strong with choppy waters. I stayed on the dry and wet sand and only was getting bottlecaps. Started thinking something was wrong. Pretty soon I found one after another of pennies - 15 in all.

The rain started coming down pretty heavy and I was surely looking like a drowned duck. Since my son and I pretty much had the beach to ourselves, I just stayed on and then figured once the sun came out, I would dry out. As long as the sky kept quiet, I figured it was safe. With the sun came the rest of my coins. Even found a buried badminton racket.

Searched for three and a half hours and got lots of metal - just part shown in photo = after my pockets got too full, I threw the rest away. Could have been better - but was a different kind of day.

Can't wait to go again.

Looks like you had a great day! Gold/bling would have been exciting but a quality day out with your son is the real treasure. WTG!

looks like a great start to a beer bottle cap collection --- good thing folks don't drink in public at the beach ( against the law )

Thats Me folks thats what I find ;D ;D guzz

Now fldaphne you are trying to out do me on bottle caps! You actually did out do me today on those! Don't you know that it's gold you are after NOT bottle caps! Heh heh You got out and that is the main thing. Your detector seems to be doing well now. Soooo keep at it and lets see who gets the first gold ring in the water! The race is on! It has to be found IN the water not in dry sand. Maybe with a competition going on between us I'll do better. ::) So the competition is on! Go get em girl!

No limit as to depth? Can it be a few inches? If so, good luck to us - the race is on!!!

looks like a fun day of beach detecting.

Fldaphne,

Hi. I'm pretty sure where you and your son search. Its one of my secret spots too.

Can you believe all of the beer caps for a beach that has no consumption of alcohol signs on it? As one fellow treasure hunter told me today, you find more treasure on beaches where they drink. So in a way I guess that it is a good sign that there is treasure there.

I only hit the water there. Have you or your son ever tried the area on the other side, the side that is the intercoastal waterway? I noticed a lot of people swimming there on Sunday. I thought it might be worth a shot but I don't know how it is.

I hope the water calms down soon.

Good luck and HH.
