I've been absent for the last few years on the site so I just wanted to say hi again. I live in Ventura, in Ventura County - Southern California. My parents have a cabin up in Big Bear, so I've been back up into "Holcomb Valley" and a few other small creeks up there which have all been ok. We have sluiced mostly but have done some dry washing down the hill from big bear. I've also gone up to Creston, and a few other spots up north that again have been fun and I've gotten some gold. I'm wondering if there is somewhere closer to Ventura, Ojai, or Santa Barbara. I know the San Gabriel mountains are good, it's a two hour drive each way for me to get there though (without any traffic). So again wanted to say hi again and see if anyone has been or heard of something close to Ventura County. And as far as Big Bear goes, does anyone have any spots up there that have been fun? Thanks and good luck to all!

Thanks! I'm heading up to Big Bear CA this weekend ans all of next week to do some prospecting. Luckily my parents have a cabin up there and live up there most of the year so my dad has a few sluice boxes; wet and dry as well as some other equipment. Looking forward to having some fun!!
