YesI've seen a match to that shoe rock before here on tnet , it was found in a pond, 3rd photo , bottom... did you post it here before?
The sandstone rocks were laying 10 feet from my house in my spring fed pond they are documented.Markers always need to stay in their original place. I'd put all of them back as they were found. Bringing them home tells you nothing. Take that shoe for example. It's a good bet that the shoe was telling you to walk/go on foot in the direction it was pointing. A lot of these worked rocks could have been pointing at something to get your attention, or they were pointing the direction to go next. I hope these were not moved from a trail I was working.

I liked the one photo you posted of the large flat rock faced hill area, that had the snow in the photo . That looked like a good place.
