I've seen a match to that shoe rock before here on tnet , it was found in a pond, 3rd photo , bottom... did you post it here before?
 

Nice handworked rocks. Hope you documented their in-situ locations, as that info may be important. It looks like some form of limestone terrain, which means there may be caves present. Caves are good places to hide things and sometimes their entrances can be easily disguised or covered.
 

Markers always need to stay in their original place. I'd put all of them back as they were found. Bringing them home tells you nothing. Take that shoe for example. It's a good bet that the shoe was telling you to walk/go on foot in the direction it was pointing. A lot of these worked rocks could have been pointing at something to get your attention, or they were pointing the direction to go next. I hope these were not moved from a trail I was working. :)

Those mounds look awesome. Looks like some of the snake mounds i seen in the southwest .
 

What's the story on the mound in the background of the pond picture?
