Been looking around TreasureNet for about six months. Great crowd of people sharing their experiences!
After doing my research, I ordered a Garrett AT PRO for my first machine. It seemed like the best value for my purposes. What really made me decide on the Garrett AT PRO was after watching this young guy who found [[[TONS]]] of relics with the AT PRO- he goes by Nuggettnoggin on uTube. give him a watch - he genuinely loves metal detecting and is an inspiration to all who want to pursue this great pastime.
I'd welcome hearing from anyone who is into securing "uniform" rights for all, to detect on ALL PUBLIC LAND. The Laws are very confusing and somewhat convoluted. I believe that each state should issue a license to metal detect on all Public Lands after certain qualifications are met by an applicant. So, If you're a Real Estate Lawyer or a Constitutional Law expert; let me know what you think.
I would also like to see a course made available to High School Students. It would make History Classes more interesting as they could form Clubs and organize Field Trips to Historical Landmarks and such and legally Detect under the supervision of a State Qualified Detectorist. Any finds would then be displayed at the Town Halls or local Historical Society and would bear the name of the person which found the object or Relic. This is my dream and I want organize this effort soon after I get my feet wet.
Looking forward to digging some relics and sharing them with the population! WE THE PEOPLE!
