Hello everyone! Obviously I am new to the forums. I have always been interested in finding the hidden history below my feet. I'm a new transplant to Northern Mississippi from SE Virginia after retiring from the Navy and finding employment here. I'm looking to meet some new folks, get started in a new hobby, have fun and learn some history about the area. I'm also into mountain biking and have had my general class amateur radio license for around 7 years now.

Welcome. There's a lot of civil war history in mississippi, biloxi had a group of confederate volunteers called The Biloxi Rifles.

The cherokee were there too, along with other tribes. Some were mound builders.
