New member here and wanted to ask a question about an old brass button my husband found in a box of relics ( probably Civil war or Rev War era)he received from a friend in Massachusetts . It's a simple button with the raised initials MIDI on it. Any clues?

Here is a picture of the button. we're wondering if it is Civil War era. It has the patina of some of the eagle buttons we have found.
