Hello from Whidbey Island

Well today was my first day with a metal detector. My father gave up on it and gave me his T2 SE, so if anyone has a good help file on command settings that would be a great help. Took it to the beach this morning: found lots of very almost unrecognizeable metal. Most was/is nails, wire and rebar, but did find a 1998 dime. Feel free to send help or even stop by a give instructions, would really like to know how to set the settings so all the strap metal wouldn't show up.

Welcome to Treasurenet! If you want to eliminate some of the junk metal, run your discrimination up some and only dig repeatable signals until you get more familiar with the detector. Be sure you aren't running the sensitivity too high, 60-65% is good to start.
