button1.webpNo idea on the "thing". It's lead and about 1 inch long. Possibly part of another "thing". The button is heavy brass with no marks whatsoever. I always assumed there were all 19th century or later, but.....ideas?button.webpthing.webp Blue bead is a new blue bead. Needed something to prop up the button on.

What is the size of the 2nd item? Not knowing the size, the shape looks like a vintage ladies hair comb. :) Breezie

Guts of a wet battery ?

It's only about 1 inch by 1 inch. Apparently part of something larger. Battery part makes sense as it's made of lead.

Since I know now it is made of lead, it is not a ladies hair comb. :) Breezie

Thanks guys, I get quite a few of these bits in the field, never kept them but at least now I know what rubbish it is.

Thanks. I figured the lead was "new". If I find anymore now I can toss it.

Hello kuger,

One time, at a digathon, I dug a bucket o' buttons. I always wondered what that was all about.
