Being brass possibly part of an old lock, did you find it in or around Texas? (Texas star)

NO, IT CAME FROM CENTRAL VIRGINIA, BUT TO BE HONEST THE REASON I BOUGHT IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE STAR! Even with the post war patent, I was hoping that it had something to do with Texas. Be my luck it came from the Star Machinery company! Thanks so much for your reply.
