Help dating a two piece naval buckle

Can anyone give me a time period for the tongue? I found it tonight at an 18th century house site. It’s got weight to it and I think it’s brass that’s silver plated. Thanks!

Waiting for those more in the know. I did a cursory search and couldn't find any buckles with that style anchor. The one on your buckle is somewhat plain, that is not meant as a derogatory comment.

Sick again today, so just one post. Here's a photo showing the "2-piece Naval buckle" you found. Stated correctly, it is a "Nautical Motif" buckle, not one that was used by any country's actual Navy. It is from the 1930s. It was originally identified here in the What-Is-It? forum by The Lady Bramblefind, a few years ago. You can do a Search at T-Net for her post about it (and the discussion-thread it's in), which has more information than I can remember.
