If you are looking for good Sunstones you are going to have to go to Plush, Oregon. There are two mines out there that I know of that let you dig.

Spectrum Sunstone Mine
- Open May 1st - Nov. 1st, 9:30AM-5:30PM
- Cost is free for the first day, $50 for each additional day

Dust Devil Sunstone Mine
- Open: May 15 - October 15
- Cost is 25% of wholesale cost of stones you wish to keep
- Colorless and Schiller stones are free

Just to let you know there is a public BLM area at the same place as the mines, we are going there again on 4/11 to recon for this years campout. Last year we camped there for 3 days and came home with a bagful.

yes, there is a blm area there. In fact when David and I were in the BLM area I found a 51 carat clear stone. Boy was I excited! Not color but it sure was the biggest I had found to that point!

Thanks, folks! Now all I have to do is figure out a way to get to Oregon! (I live in Minnesota.) Just used up my annual vacation in the wrong state... ???
