What you have bears a striking resemblance to this: 80032 - Crowns - Waterbury Button
However, it does not have the same border.

What I think you have is this: Crown and Fancy Border Button, Gold Anodised (38L) | eBay
I'm sorry to say I do not believe it is very old.

Looks to be copying the Crown of St Edward.
