Help I dug a Copper or Brass 34 star flag

[Charliespinpointer]

I found this in Virginia last weekend with several bullets. A union camp I believe as I dug a breast plate, nap sack hook and 2 New York buttons and 2 Connecticut buttons. It's 1"x2" in size. I know the only time the flag had 34 stars was from 1861-1863 as West Virginia was inducted in 1863. Thanks
