Help ID I think it's Mica schist with garnets

First time poster.

I came across this working on a claim in Eastern Wa. After noticed a few garnets in the riffles, I went over to the classifier Bucket & noticed this on top.
I think it's a Mica schist with garnets. Honestly I really have no idea it's fairly heavy to me weighing in at 164 grams. Not sure what to think about it should I toss it back in the river? What kind of garnets are in it? what kind of minerals are in the rest of it? Any help is appreciated. Thank You

Yes, it appears to be Mica Schist with impure/imperfect Garnets that were formed with a heavy concentration of iron. The specimen has very little collector value but is a good conversation piece! It is not uncommon to find Mica Schist with near perfect Garnets (beautiful blood red and dark red) in the same location as the subject specimen was found. You might even find some really nice Garnets in your' Classifier or in the riffles of your' Gold Sluice from time to time.

I agree with Huntsman53... it is definitely Mica Schist with many low-grade Garnet crystals in it. I used to find lots of that when I was a "rock-hound" (rock-&-mineral hunter/collector) in the Atlanta area.
