Help ID Pewter cup & pitcher

Posted here for attention although these came from a local auction house. They appear to either be very old or a fairly well done reproduction of something old. Looks like aged pewter but has an almost sticky residue on them. Maybe environmental from being in a house with a heavy smoker for many years ? Whatever the metal it's very soft and easy to bend. Not sure if I should try to clean them or leave them alone. I paid 3 bucks but don't want to do anything stupid if they are old. Penny for size reference.

My guess would be they are very old. If they metal is that soft, it may well be tin mixed with lead. They don't make pewter like that any more, for obvious reasons.

I collect pewter and they're definitely older pewter. With that kind of style, I'm guessing mid 1800's. 1850's-60's. They should have some sort of mark on the bottom but also check the sides as well.
