Howdy All, I just got asked by a local museum to try to ID some pieces from a relic collection that was recently donated. I was hoping ya'll could help me out. They are looking for type and approximate age. The first one I am calling a clovis. It is fluted almost half way up on one side and the base is ground. The hematite piece is????? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Steve

I forgot to mention that these were glued to a board so the shiny stuff on the backside is old glue. Base is ground #932 . Is 101 a Dalton? These were found in south central Virginia.

wouldn't #91 be called a Spedis?

Knowing where they are from would help in the ID. The first one looks like a Dalton to me or possible a Holland. The Hematite piece is an unfinished Plummet. The Stemmed types could be Waubesa Points or maybe Dicksons.

They were found in south central Virginia.

I would agree #105 is a Paleo form, Clovis or maybe Barnes.
I would put #932 and #155 in the Morrow Mountain family.
I think #101 is probably early archaic, and Dalton, Patrick Henry, or Kirk in general appearance.
The two in the last photo, #'s 98 & 91 , (or 86 & 16 if upside down) might be re-sharpened Guilfords or un-named typed points possibly mid archaic, and morphs between stemmed points, Guilford's, and Morrow mountains???.
I don't know about the hematite piece, but unfinished plummet seems likely.
